Fed up of waiting around for a perfect swell to hit? If you're going on a stag party in Bratislava, you don't need to rely on water conditions for an epic surf session!
Hang on, did we just say Bratislava? As in, the landlocked capital of Slovakia? Yep. An enterprising combination of Austrian and Slovakian engineers have created a standing wave in the river, just outside the city. It's the world's first artificial wave in streaming water, and it's perfect for beginners and expert surfers alike.
You'll be issued with all the safety equipment you need to ride the wave, then it's time to stand up and start carving! Because this is a standing wave, you can either surf in one spot, or use the speed of the water to move your board along the face just like you would in an ocean. Only here, you don't have to paddle out, duck dive, or do anything tricky before you get to the good bit! Simply enter the wave already standing on your board, and let flow dynamics do the rest.
This is a brilliantly different activity for a stag party in Bratislava! The Slovak capital is the only place in the world where you can surf on an artificial river wave, and one of the only places on earth where you can surf on any type of artificial wave. And with at least three hours to play with, plus instruction from the experts, even newbie surfers will be up and riding by the end of the afternoon.
In a nutshell:
