The Best Of The Ibiza Closing Parties

Ibiza's season is in full swing - but summer must come to an end, and when it does the most legendary club parties on earth are going to kick off. If you're going to have even a little chance of getting in for an Ibiza stag do, you need to get your skates on and start booking. Here's what you could be doing in just over a month's time...

Amnesia

Amnesia's closing parties start with the absolutely epic Matinee, on Saturday September 19. No-one knows why it's called Matinee, because technically it starts at midnight. But hey, this is Ibiza. Time means nothing here anyway. Expect deck-wrecking sets from Taito Tikaro, Caal Smile and Les Schmitz. Oh, and come dressed for foam.

Eden

Fancy a bit of deep house? It doesn't get much more subterranean than the grooves laid down by the Faux Basement folks. These Manchester-based promoters have successfully relocated to the White Isle for their debut season, and the alternative crowd are loving them the most.

I can't give away details of the Faux Basement closing party lineup, because they haven't released them yet. These underground music rebels like to play their cards close to their chests. What I can say is Lewis Boardman, Jordan Murphy and Dermot C have been smashing the joint all summer. Bring glowsticks and prepare to do some serious dancing. Closing party date: Saturday September 19.

Es Paradis

Ibiza's chicest club is famous for its restrained, classical decor - so it comes as something of a surprise to find the island's original and best neon paint party banging away every Sunday. But you know what? It really works. All those Greek-style columns and pristine podia turn into a canvas of many colours, one helluva backdrop for the gorgeous paint-clad ladies and loved-up fellers raving the night away. The name? GLOW.

On Sunday September 20, the Es Paradis girls head for the dance floor one final time, bearing massive vials of glowing paint and a mission to bust out some serious moves. Again, the lineup has yet to be confirmed, but really, who cares? You're going to get covered in glowing paint by beautiful ladies.

Space

Ibiza's biggest name plays host to one of the island's biggest nights: ENTER. You have to put the full stop after the name - it's the legendary black dot that's been passed from raver to raver like a piratical curse of non-stop dance awesomeness. On Thursday September 17, ENTER. closes its doors on a belter of a season.

The lineup is a techno lover's dream: Richie Hawtin, Marcell Dettmann, Julian Jewell. Turn up early for the sunset terrace party, ENTER.Sake, where Dubfire play back to back with Victor Calderone and Mr Hawtin himself wanders through the crowd pouring sake for everyone.

If you're coming to Ibiza on a September stag party, try to catch Carl Cox's Space closing night on Tuesday September 22. The Big Man himself is headlining, and DJ Sneak is on the terrace.

DC-10

If you like your house music harder than a quadratic equation, head to DC-10 on Wednesday 23 September for A Planet Called Paradise's closing fiesta. This one's all about doing it old school, with hefty beats and on the spot tune-making. The lineup includes Ibiza favourite Jamie Jones, and veteran crowd-rocker Steve Lawler. Expect to sweat.

Pacha

Pacha gets two epic closers in two nights: Martin Solveig's My House shuts down on Wednesday September 30, and F*** Me I'm Famous! closes out on Thursday October 1. Go to both. But if you have to choose, here are the lineups.

Martin Solveig headlines his own night, obviously, with some very special guests in the form of a 2ManyDJs set. If you've never seen the original mashup artists at work, you should. Their seminal As Heard on Radio Soulwax Pt.2 album is still one of the greatest recorded mixes, evs. F*** Me I'm Famous! finishes up with David Guetta and R3hab.
